Here is an incredible opportunity to serve the local community this summer through LGCC’s partnership with Hope Horizon EPA, a nonprofit that equips and empowers youth in East Palo Alto. They’re running a six-week summer camp from June 16 to July 25, and they need our help!

Hope Horizon正招募實習生和義工協助他們於  6/16 – 7/25 舉行的夏令營活動!鼓勵弟兄姊妹參與並支持 East Palo Alto青年, 他們需要你的幫助!

This summer campaign addresses the summer slide, a well-documented issue where underserved students lose 2-3 months of academic progress over the summer, widening the achievement gap. With 80% of students already below grade level, this loss makes it even harder for them to catch up, impacting their long-term academic and career success. Additionally, 1 in 8 children struggle with mental health challenges, which are often worsened by instability and lack of engagement during summer months. This 6-week summer camp provides structured learning, mentorship, and enrichment, ensuring students retain knowledge, build confidence, and develop the resilience needed for a brighter future. Supporting this initiative means investing in lasting change for youth who need it most.

There are three key ways to serve:

  1. Classroom Interns – Commit to all six weeks and make a deep impact as a leader.
  2. Classroom Volunteers – Serve for three weeks alongside students.
  3. Workshop Leaders – Lead a three-week session in a skill or passion you have.

If you need more flexibility, there are other ways to help as well!

If serving in person isn’t an option, you can still make a difference by giving. Right now, every dollar given through April 15, 2025 is matched up to $30,000—doubling your impact on these kids’ lives!

Donations help provide meals, supplies, and transportation.
