Our friends at Afghan American Church are hosting a school backpack drive to bless the local Afghan community. This is an amazing opportunity to get involved in local missions as an individual, small group, and congregation! We are aiming to collect the completed backpacks at LGCC by Friday, August 1st, there’s about 2 weeks to put them together.
Recommendations for small groups:
- Figure out how many backpacks your group wants to put together.
- Cost: assume $10-$15 to fill a single backpack, plus $5 to $15 per backpack, for a total cost of $15 to $30 per backpack.
- Make a Target/Walmart trip to get all necessary supplies.
- Suggest gathering your group to pack bags, and pray over / write notes for the kids receiving them!
- Bring backpacks to LGCC by Friday, August 1.
